The Ruth collection is all about the heart. Ruth was a widow from an enemy nation whose faithfulness has made her one of the most well-known women in the bible. The book of Ruth teaches us about family, loyalty, and humility. Ruth broke many “molds” for young women of her time. She lived in a culture where you were expected to stay with your own ethnic group and you usually worshipped the god’s your people worshipped. Her culture also dictated that young women were to commit their lives to men. Ruth, however, committed her life to an elderly woman with no money, no resources, and no power. She chose to care for her mother-in-law over the opportunity for a new husband, and security in her homeland. Ruth leads with her heart.
